Mike Henderson has been with GenSpring since 2001. Along with David Bokman, Mike is responsible for services provided to the GenSpring South Region Family Office clients.

Prior to joining GenSpring, he spent 23 years at Arthur Andersen as a tax consultant to business owners and executives on income and estate tax planning. While at Arthur Andersen, Mike served as head of the Family Wealth Planning service line in the Carolinas. He was also one of twelve U.S. partners on the firm's National Specialty Team for Family Wealth Planning, which developed leading edge strategies for high net worth clients. As one of four national directors for the Arthur Andersen Center for Family Business, he helped serve unique planning needs of large family business owners, including strategies related to management succession, monetization alternatives and estate planning.

Most recently, Mike was an Investment Manager with Goldman, Sachs &Co. in Atlanta, where he assisted high net worth families in a broad range of investment management and financial advisory needs.

Mike is a Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina.

President

Chris Cecil is President of GenSpring Family Offices in Charlotte, NC. He oversees all operations and delivery of the multi-family office and investment management services to our client families throughout the Carolinas. Over the past 21 years, Chris has worked extensively with ultra high net worth entrepreneurs and wealthy families in such areas as investment management, asset allocation, investment policy creation, multi-generational planning and the acquisition and financing of closely held businesses.

Prior to joining GenSpring, Chris was President of the Southeast and of the Florida regions for JPMorgan Private Bank where he was responsible for over $12 billion of ultra high net worth family assets. Previously he was Managing Director at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. in both Palm Beach, FL and New York, NY where he headed the national group of portfolio managers, was former President of BBH Mutual Funds, and a Director of their trust company. He also headed the private client investment management services group and created their open-architecture Multiple Advisory Investment Management group.

Chris received a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and has completed executive education in investment management from the Harvard Business School and the Darden Business School. He is a current Board Member for Communities in Schools(Charlotte), Discovery Place (Charlotte), Biltmore Farms (Asheville), and Gulfstream Media Group(Florida).
